WHOA! What a big week and a bit!

Hello peoples,

Well in the last week or so my moderately sized toosh has been grinding away at an exceedingly fast pace. There have been a few things that have happened to make this the case...

Firstly, Matilda turned one! Hurrah Matilda! Her Birthday party took place in the back yard of our new house with lots of family and friends. Matilda spent the majority of the day naked, which she way extremely delighted about, and in the pool, getting all the attention a one year old should get on their birthday. We realized, in all the social fun, that Matilda loves sharing her love. Any person that was under 4ft tall was afflicted with a whole bunch of Matilda birthday love.

As parents, both Brett and I were unsure of 'first birthday etiquette', but I think we did a pretty a good job at pulling it off... I have to say a very big thank you to Lisa-Marie and Paul for their help and support on Matildas big day and a super duper thank you to Brett, who was amazing. And me, well for those of you who know me will know that I had as much (if not more) fun as Matilda! I was so excited!!! The evening was spent on our verandah listening to the waves crash - yes waves in the top end - and having drinks and great conversation with some of the best people I know.

Secondly, have just returned from Cairns. I spent two days there, taking in the sites and sussing out the joint before the return road trip. It's small yet surprisingly busy. Everything is green and set up for the visitors it's economy tends to rely upon so much.
I visited Green Island, which is about a half an hour boat cruise from cairns. Although it is very busy it has sustained it's natural awe. I can now say I have been swimming with hundreds of jelly fish and lost what ever phobia I may have gained in my short stint with the translucent killers! I patted a turtle and saw a black tip shark that was 2 meters long!
Also Cairns officially has the best sushi in Australia - if you are going by Kalinda's food recommendations...

Thirdly, I returned from Cairns on a road trip, but I will fill you all in on the details in the next few days as I have run out of time. I will add pics then too!

Take care my friendly furs!
